Tiny Dancer

I thought I would try to capture Jack in his new sunglasses this morning. Well, as it happened, he wasn't having any of it. However, he was happy to dance along to a cartoon, while standing on my blue backdrop in only his nappy. I snapped all his best moves as we giggled away. Gosh, the child makes me laugh. I couldn't choose between the photos, so I put them altogether. This took an incredibly long time, and was a very very fiddly job. Mostly because I photographed it on blue, and layered each photo over the one before. It took an immense amount of concentration to select the correct layer to delete or clone, and blending shadows was a bit of a nightmare. Anyway, here's my collage photo attempt. Check out dem funky shapes!

  1. This is so fun! I have been wanting to do this for a bit. Maybe today i can get enough shots together to make it happen. Your boy always makes me smile.

  3. I love the picture you blended. If you ever do that again and are completely finished with one layer, you can merge it with the one above/below it. Just press CTRL+ALT while putting your cursor in between the tow layers you want to merge. Be sure to be done with that layer, though. But it really helps to knock out those layers and get them our of the way. :)

Thank you for joining up with Photo Feedback again. I really do love seeing Jack here each week. He brings a smile to my face. My only suggestion for the blended shot would to be to maybe show your gridlines as you are editing so you can keep your horizon steady. But merging that many photos is ridiculously hard, so you totally rocked it!!

your collection of photos would have also been cute as a {what i call} moving picture... or animated gif. do you have photoshop? or elements? i do a link-up every monday where others can submit their moving pictures... which i also provided a tutorial on how to make. here is my series of posts, if you are interested.

in each post, there is a link to the tutorial on how to make them, too.

i never go around promoting my link-up... but i could not help but tell you about it, because as soon as i saw your adorable dancing boy creatively lined up like that, i thought how cute it would also be as a moving picture.
